1998 Ibanez S-Classic SC620
Just added to eBay is this great-looking S Classic SC620 – the top of the range model in very good condition for its age.
Anyone who’s played any of the Ibanez S series knows that they’re incredibly thin and light, but the S-Classic models take it a step further with a 25.1″ scale length and wraparound hard tail Short Stop II bridge. The SC620 spec is mechanically the same as the SC420, but includes gold-plated hardware and pearlescent oval inlays rather than plain dots.
I really like the wear pattern on the hardware, it gives it a real character where all the gold has worn off the exposed faces on the bridge, leaving the occasional hint in a recess – cleary this is a guitar that has been played a lot but looked after. Even 12 years on, the finish is still glowing – something that doesn’t happen on other makes of guitar.
