Custom-made Tremol-No Trem Cover
While I love my Ibanez RG, and bought it because I wanted a guitar with a double-locking tremolo… in the end I just haven’t used it enough to justify the extra work in constantly tuning and restringing it. So I fitted a Tremol-no to allow switching between floating and fixed bridge modes. The only problem was that the locking screws sit in the trem cavity and meant the cover had to be left off. This isn’t a top of the range J-Custom, so the trem bay is a bit roughly finished.

I went on a hunt for cover plates, there was nothing available off the shelf but I came across Aurora Project‘s website – after a couple of emails back and forth, I sent my original cover off as a template, with the required changes marked on it.

I paid £10 via Paypal and a few days later the custom-made plate arrived through my door. I’d specified a larger cutout by the thumbscrews, and requested that the trem arm height adjusting hole was removed. In addition, I wanted it in white to match the body colour.

I’m really pleased with how it turned out, and would definitely use Aurora Project for any future custom work.
